Boston Public Schools Tested for Lead
The Boston Globe is reporting that four schools in the district are getting water filters on drinking fountains. The filters are designed for copper and lead. Four schools have already installed the filters: Josiah Quincy Elementary in Chinatown; Sarah Greenwood K-8 in Dorchester; Eliot K-8 Upper in the North End; and Another Course to College in Hyde Park.
“BPS believes that the availability of free, safe water for all students and staff is integral to the district’s mission of supporting healthy habits,” BPS spokesman Daniel O’Brien said in a statement.
